Just You & Me

I signed Ford and me up for a 4 session class called Just You & Me on Saturday mornings.  Today was our first class.  On the way there, Ford told me "the light is green, we have to go" after the stoplight changed.  He talked about going to "play with other kids" and that he would see "little boys, little girls and other kids".  When we got there, he was excited to see a Buzz Lightyear figure on the seat of the car we parked next to.  It took him a few minutes to warm up (both in temperature and with the other kids) after we got in.

I wasn't sure what to expect of the class, but we started off by making a cookbook.  The kids colored the cover of it, then we made a nameplate and glued them onto the book.  We also put in the first recipe - Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes.  The teacher had premade a batch for the kids to decorate.  Ford did a pretty good job with his, and enjoyed eating it after he finished decorating it.  His favorite part of the day was "snipping" - using the scissors.  They had a couple of kid friendly pairs there and he had never used scissors before.  He wanted to cut any paper he could put his hands on!  We'll have to look into getting him a pair for home.

Here are some photos from the day:

Decorating the Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes - I wasn't so sure about this recipe, but I'll have to say it was much easier for Ford to decorate a cucake in an ice cream cone than if it had been a regular cupcake!

He made the one with the sprinkles for Daddy!

Messy face!

He had such a great time this morning that after dinner he asked "go play with the other kids?"
